In May 2022, the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine, together with Uzhhorod National University and Kyiv Academic University, launched a new direction - a competition through research for greater interest in science and popularization of scientific fields. The NGO "Youth Organization of Scientists of Ukraine" supports this project and, together with the founders, launches the annual GLUSHKOVCyber competition for young mathematicians and programmers.

The GLUSHKOVCyber competition is intended for young scientists, graduate students, students and high school students. The competition has a non-standard format, participants have a longer period to solve a scientific problem. This approach enables the participant to delve deeper into a scientific problem, which contributes to the development of scientifically promising youth in innovative areas of science. The GLUSHKOVCyber project is designed to increase the interest of young people in the field of mathematics. According to the project, the competition is planned to be held twice a year.
